Betty Jo Ganey, RPh

Betty has twenty-five years of hospital pharmacy experience, with over ten years in consulting for client hospitals. Her primary expertise is conducting audits of hospital vendor agreements to identify breaches that have resulted in overcharges. Once overcharges have been identified, Betty works directly with her clients to obtain reimbursement from healthcare vendors that have committed these acts.  A Registered Pharmacist, Betty has a BS in Pharmacy from the University of Louisiana, Monroe and holds Pharmacy state licenses in Louisiana, Texas and Georgia.  She is an associate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

 

Betty’s past consulting projects include:

  • Conducted a pharmacy management audit which resulted in identifying a substantial number of overcharges for a Michigan Hospital.

  • Worked on over 20 multidisciplinary performance improvement projects for hospitals and health systems to identify and implement millions of dollars in drug cost savings and pharmacy department labor efficiencies.

  • Partnered with a ten hospital system located in the Midwest to decrease overall drug expense. Tactics included two pharmacy management agreement audits, contract renegotiation, group purchasing organization comparison and wholesaler agreement audits. Outcomes included implementing a new pharmacy management company at several facilities, changing of group purchasing organization and wholesaler at two of the facilities.

  • Conducted an audit of major wholesaler's pharmacy management subsidiary and served as an expert witness for a Montana hospital defending the audit results.
